Note from Abby: I was always generally fit growing up (let’s be honest – I was just blessed with a good metabolism). I irish danced for 6 years but after moving on from that, soon found myself lost in a normal gym. I didn’t know how to work the equipment but was too embarrased to ask. I didn’t like doing the same thing all the time in the gym and I especially hated cardio (running, mostly). It wasn’t until Tim and I tried our first class at Bombers CrossFit in Beavercreek that we were hooked! Well. Hooked maybe isn’t the right word. I hated it at first (cardio) but by the end of the workout, I couldn’t wait to come back the next day. There was just something about doing a different workout everyday and seeing how far you could push yourself! CrossFit is one of the only things I have truly felt passionate about. I love seeing our clients work toward hitting their goals everyday. Between CrossFit and nutrition, I truly do believe we can take back our bodies and set ourselves up for success in the future!

Note from Caitlin: I started CrossFit in the fall of 2014 at a gym in Columbus, Ohio. When we moved to Dayton in 2017, I was so happy to find CrossFit Involve. Our community has supported me through countless workouts and PRs, and I have met some of my closest friends at the gym. I decided to take my love of the sport one step further, and pursue my CrossFit Level 1 in 2019. I’m excited to share my passion for fitness with other through coaching.

Favorite Benchmark WOD: Barbara
Favorite CrossFit Movement: Anything body weight!
Favorite Spot in Dayton: My front porch in the summertime
Note from Lisa: As a former level 10 gymnast, I had to find a way to keep in shape after retirement. I went to local gyms throughout college and my mid-twenties but something was missing. I missed the community of sports, being upside down and a competitive environment. That’s when I found my way into a CrossFit gym in 2013 while I was living in Columbus. It was love at first burpee and I’ve been hooked ever since! CrossFit Involve has been home to me since 2016 and I love being apart of this community and helping our members reach their goals!

Jaime Holmquist
L1 Trainer
Favorite Benchmark WOD: My favorite ‘Girl’ benchmark is Grace & favorite ‘Hero’ is Murph
Favorite CrossFit Movement: Snatch
Favorite Spot in Dayton: The Oregon District
Note from Jaime: CrossFit saved my life. More than likely literally, definitely figuratively. In 2015 at 25 years old, I found myself not only obese but with yet another chronic disease diagnosis: Fibromyalgia. In the pain-filled months after the diagnosis, my obesity took on a new life of its own until I found myself at 270 pounds.
Enter CrossFit. I wasn’t yet capable of running. Or jumping. Or holding my own body weight on the rig. I was sore all the time. And yet, I showed up. One day at a time I cleaned up my diet, scaled movements, and lost a lot of weight. All I did was show up, work hard, and pay attention.
Fast forward to present times and I’m here, at CrossFit Involve, as both an athlete and a coach. As an athlete, I run, jump and do pull-ups without the pain and effects of my diagnosis. And as a coach, I work with athletes from all walks of life and abilities.
I was the very definition of someone who needed help in a big way. CrossFit was the solution.
The transformational experience alongside my formal training as a CrossFit coach, I hope to guide and support our athletes through their own journeys. Whether it is individual sessions or group classes, increasing strength & skill or losing weight, or just wanting to live a better quality of life, together we can make it happen.
